Costs
Tuition: $1,500 USD
Health Insurance
Travel health insurance is required and will be provided by us through Cultural Insurance Services International (CISI). The cost, additional to the tuition fee, varies according to the age of the applicant and starts at $31 for those who are 18-25. This cost is not included in the tuition fee.
Housing:
- The accommodations offered by program vary according to the type of accommodation participants desire.
- Participants have the option of finding housing accommodations on their own. Participants must be aware that there will be a very limited tolerance for people showing up late to group activities and that we will provide NO assistance with your housing if you do it on your own.
- All the hotels offered by IIRPS are located within a central area of Athens and are withing close walking distance so participants can assemble easily.
- Accommodation prices include: sleeping 12 nights, breakfast and wireless service within the hotel.
- All accommodations are USD. Should there be a substantial currency variation in the exchange rates from Oct. 1st to December 1st, 2011, we may have to adjust for the cost of the hotels.
- Hotel reservations are made after last payment is made.
Two star Hotels:
Cost per person in single room : $800 USD
Cost per person in double room : $476 USD
Cost per person in triple room* : $375 USD
Three star Hotels
Cost per person in single room : $1296 USD
Cost per person in double room : $763 USD
Cost per person in triple room* : $ 500 USD
Luxury Hotels
Prices vary. We will find a hotel and charge a 10% surcharge.
* Participants must find 3 persons to share room with.
Included in tuition fee:
- Lectures and guided tours
- Cost of tickets to museums and monuments
- Cost of transportation during the organized visits
Not included in the tuition or housing costs:
- Transportation to Greece
- Transportation from airport to hotel
- Telephone calls from hotel
- Minibar usage or any other food or beverages besides the regular breakfast offered by hotel
- Transportation in Athens that is not part of the organized group visits
- Food except for the hotel breakfast
- Required health insurance (see above)
Warning:
- The program will not be held unless there are at least 10 participants
- If there are not sufficient participants your deposit will be returned in its entirety
- You may pull out of the program up to November 15th without losing your deposit
- We do not book hotels until you have made full payment of all your fees
- The program will require considerable amounts of walking and climbing stairs. Visits may last up to 4 Hours. Persons with difficulty walking should consider carefully before joining this program.
- In January the average temperature in Athens is a high of 54 F° and a low of 43 F°, with day time temperatures in the low 50s or high 40s
- Participants in wheel chairs may find some parts of archaeological sites visited not accessible
- Participants with substantial physical disabilities must consult IIRPS to check if participation to program is practical
